Prof. Dr. Hans-Liudger Dienel

Prof. Dr. Hans-Liudger Dienel, Chair of Work Studies, Technology and Participation at the Institute for Vocational Education and Work Studies, holds the chairmanship of the Scientific Advisory Board.

Professor Dienel is a social science technology researcher at Technische Universität Berlin and also heads the Berlin nexus Institute for Cooperation Management, which primarily designs citizen participation processes.

At TU Berlin, Dienel directs the study programs in Science Management and Sustainable Mobility Management and is Dean of Studies for the School of Education.

Dienel studied Mechanical Engineering, History, Philosophy, and Sociology in Hanover, Washington, and Munich, and worked, among other places, at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, TU Munich, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. His visiting professorships included positions at TU Wien, the Institute for Advanced Study in Shimla/India, and UC Berkeley. From 1995 to 2013, Dienel founded and directed the Center for Technology and Society at TU Berlin.

He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Innovation. European Journal of Social Science Research” (Routledge).
