Wie müssen digitale Mobilitätsangebote gestaltet sein, damit sie im touristischen Alltag tatsächlich genutzt werden?

Mit dieser Frage haben wir uns gemeinsam mit der TMB Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg und dem Gut Boltenhof im Rahmen eines Workshops auf Gut Boltenhof beschäftigt.

Unsere Kollegin Sina Heider hat dort gemeinsam mit Laura König (TMB) den im Forschungsprojekt DIANA-T(Digitale Leistungen, Datenintegration und Datenautonomie für eine nachhaltigere Tourismusbranche) entwickelten Mobility Hub mit potenziellen Nutzer*innen getestet und diskutiert. Im Mittelpunkt standen die Perspektiven von Gästen und Mitarbeitenden sowie die Frage, welche Anforderungen und Erwartungen sie an eine solche Anwendung haben.

Für uns als difgl sind solche Praxistests ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Entwicklung digitaler Lösungen. Denn nur im direkten Austausch mit zukünftigen Nutzer*innen wird sichtbar, welche Funktionen tatsächlich relevant sind, wo Herausforderungen liegen und wie Angebote weiterentwickelt werden sollten.

Die Erkenntnisse aus dem Workshop helfen dabei, den Mobility Hub gezielt an den Bedürfnissen der späteren Nutzer*innen auszurichten. Gleichzeitig liefern sie wichtige Impulse für die wissenschaftliche Begleitforschung im Projekt, die von der Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde (HNEE) verantwortet wird.

Das Workshopkonzept wurde dafür in enger Abstimmung mit der HNEE entwickelt, sodass die Ergebnisse sowohl in die Weiterentwicklung des Prototyps als auch in die wissenschaftliche Auswertung einfließen können.

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle Teilnehmenden für die offenen Gespräche und wertvollen Impulse sowie an das Gut Boltenhof für die Gastfreundschaft und die Unterstützung bei der Durchführung des Workshops.

Genau daran arbeiten wir im Projekt DIANA-T (Digitale Leistungen, Datenintegration und Datenautonomie für eine nachhaltigere Tourismusbranche), gefördert vom Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt – gemeinsam mit Partner*innen aus Praxis und Forschung.

Aktuell erreicht das Projekt eine entscheidende Phase:
Aus ersten Ideen und Pretotypes werden konkrete, belastbare Prototypen.

wo sie echten Mehrwert schaffen

Wir als Deutsche Institut für Gutes Leben (difgl) arbeitet im Projekt nicht nur konzeptionell, sondern bauen gemeinsam mit
Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg, Gut Boltenhof und Fraunhofer FIT einen Prototypen für den DIANA T – Mobility Hub.

Ziel ist es, Mobilitätsangebote vor Ort datenbasiert zu verknüpfen und damit de verkehrstechnische Anbindung vor Ort konkret zu verbessern.

Die aktuellen Entwicklungen zeigen deutlich:
Technologie entfaltet ihren Mehrwert erst dann, wenn sie in konkreten Anwendungen erprobt wird.

The Berlin Housing Crisis – A View from Outside

On May 7, 2026, the new event series LondonBerlinDemocracy launches with a dialogue on one of the most urgent urban challenges of our time: the housing crisis.
Berlin and London are closely connected through longstanding exchange and face comparable challenges in key areas of urban development. LondonBerlinDemocracy takes these connections as a starting point for discussing current political questions from a comparative perspective.
The opening event focuses on housing. While the problems of London’s housing market have been visible for decades, housing has also become one of Berlin’s most pressing social and political issues. Rising rents, limited housing supply, and structural changes since German reunification have had a lasting impact on the Berlin housing market.
At the same time, the balance of power between public authorities and private actors has shifted significantly.

Against this backdrop, the event will address a number of urgent questions:
What is at stake for social and cultural life when growing numbers of people can no longer afford adequate housing?
How can a fair balance between tenants and landlords be achieved?
What role does the real estate sector play?
What room for action do the state and the districts have?
And to what extent can instruments of direct democracy, such as referendums, contribute to solutions—or fail to do so?

Taking an external perspective, the discussion brings these questions into dialogue with local experience.
Experts from London and Berlin will reflect on current developments and debate different views on the situation.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Robert Keeling (difgl, Berlin).

Am 7. Mai 2026 startet die neue Veranstaltungsreihe LondonBerlinDemocracy mit einem Dialog zu einer der drängendsten urbanen Herausforderungen unserer Zeit: der Wohnungskrise.

Berlin und London sind durch einen langjährigen Austausch eng miteinander verbunden und stehen vor vergleichbaren Herausforderungen in zentralen Bereichen der Stadtentwicklung. LondonBerlinDemocracy nimmt diese Verbindungen zum Anlass, aktuelle politische Fragestellungen aus einer vergleichenden Perspektive zu diskutieren.

Die Auftaktveranstaltung widmet sich dem Thema Wohnen. Während die Probleme des Londoner Wohnungsmarktes seit Jahrzehnten sichtbar sind, hat sich auch das Wohnen in Berlin zu einer der drängendsten sozialen und politischen Fragen entwickelt. Steigende Mieten, begrenztes Wohnungsangebot sowie strukturelle Veränderungen seit der deutschen Wiedervereinigung haben den Berliner Wohnungsmarkt nachhaltig geprägt.
Gleichzeitig hat sich das Kräfteverhältnis zwischen öffentlicher Hand und privaten Akteur:innen deutlich verschoben.
Vor diesem Hintergrund geht die Veranstaltung zentralen Fragen nach:

Was steht für das soziale und kulturelle Leben auf dem Spiel, wenn immer mehr Menschen sich angemessenen Wohnraum nicht mehr leisten können?
Wie kann ein fairer Ausgleich zwischen Mieter:innen und Vermieter:innen erreicht werden?
Welche Rolle spielt die Immobilienwirtschaft?
Welche Handlungsspielräume haben das Land Berlin und die Bezirke?
Und inwieweit können Instrumente direkter Demokratie – etwa Volksentscheide – zu Lösungen beitragen oder auch scheitern?

Aus einer vergleichenden Außenperspektive werden diese Fragen mit lokalen Erfahrungen in Beziehung gesetzt. Expert:innen aus London und Berlin reflektieren aktuelle Entwicklungen und diskutieren unterschiedliche Sichtweisen auf die Situation.

KI im Handwerk: Workshop zu Chancen, Risiken und Anwendungsmöglichkeiten

Künstliche Intelligenz verändert die Arbeitswelt – zunehmend auch im Handwerk. Doch wie kann ihr Einsatz sinnvoll, fair und selbstbestimmt gestaltet werden?

Im Workshop „KI im Handwerk – Was hat das mit mir zu tun?“, zu dem das Kompetenzzentrum Berliner Handwerker*innen im Rahmen des Learning Circles Nachhaltigkeit in Kooperation mit der Handwerkskammer Berlin einlädt, werden genau diese Fragen praxisnah beleuchtet.

Katja Anclam, Geschäftsführerin von difgl und KI-Expertin, gibt gemeinsam mit Carmen Albrecht (Beraterin für Innovation und Technologie sowie Betriebsberaterin für nachhaltige Unternehmensführung bei der Handwerkskammer Berlin) Einblicke in die Potenziale und Herausforderungen von KI im Arbeitsalltag. Neben einer verständlichen Einführung in grundlegende Konzepte stehen konkrete Anwendungsbeispiele und die Einordnung gesellschaftlicher Auswirkungen im Fokus.

Die Teilnehmenden erhalten die Möglichkeit, Perspektiven für den eigenen Arbeitskontext zu entwickeln und sich mit anderen über den Einsatz von KI im Handwerk auszutauschen.

Wladimir Kaminer came to Berlin from Moscow in the early 90s – and stayed. In Prenzlauer Berg, between vodka, prefabricated buildings, and party culture, he not only found a new home, but also inexhaustible material for his stories. His texts are insightful, humorous, melancholic – and always deeply human.

Hardly anyone has shaped the attitude to life in post-reunification Berlin as much as he has – with his debut “Russendisko,” Kaminer wrote a literary declaration of love to the capital at the beginning of the 2000s, which still enjoys cult status today.

A prolific writer, his latest book “Das geheime Leben der Deutschen” (NEW: “The Secret Life of Germans” by Wladimir Kaminer – Book – 2025 ) describes what fascinates him about everyday life in Germany.

In this podcast, we talk about his first years in Berlin after the fall of the Wall, how the city has changed since then, what role humor and literature play in this, and how Berlin is (still) a kind of playground for adults.

A look into Europe’s Capital of Culture: Katja Anclam is designing this workshop offer on the use of Artificial Intelligence in creative tourism.

AI in Creative Tourism – Practical Workshops with difgl in Chemnitz

As part of the Makers, Business & Arts project, a central project in the program of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, workshops on the topic of Artificial Intelligence in Creative Tourism will take place in cooperation with the State Association of the Cultural and Creative Industries Saxony e.V. and the Tourism Association Erzgebirge e.V. Experience Home Erzgebirge.

The German Institute for a Good Life, together with the difgl AI experts Katja Anclam Katja Anclam and Andrey Shebentovsky as well as culture manager Sasha Polivanov will be holding several on-site and online workshops on “AI in Creative Tourism”. The events are therefore specifically aimed at people who work in the field of creative educational offerings, art, tourism or mediation – whether with initial experience or already deeply involved in the topic.

What is it about?
In the workshops, participants will learn how AI tools such as ChatGPT, image generators or content applications can be meaningfully integrated into their own work – from brainstorming to course planning and marketing creative offers. In addition to practical exercises, ethical, legal and strategic aspects will also be examined.

Two formats – tailored to the level of knowledge:

For beginners (on site in Chemnitz):

SPLEE Project Meeting: Shaping democracy together with European quality media!

The difgl and the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF are primarily responsible for the Datipilot innovation sprint research project SPLEE – Streaming Platform for Longreads and Essays from Europe.

In regular personal exchanges, it is important for all SPLEE participants to concentrate on the common goals and visions – and to combine the individual trades, strengths and perspectives. We know that only together will we be able to realize the vision of a European platform for longreads and essays, while meeting our demands for high-class journalism and concise design.

At the end of March, the SPLEE consortium difgl and Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF met to coordinate, plan and concretely distribute tasks. SPLEE is a mammoth project – we know that. That is why we want to take a realistic look at the coming months and concentrate on what is necessary to successfully put our vision into practice.

In the coming months, we want to:

Build strong partnerships and increase our visibility.
Secure further funding to enable an extended project duration.
Develop a clear design language that combines innovative design with classic communication functions.
Take our public relations work to the next level.

Experience in difgl project work has shown that personal exchange is the most fertile ground for innovation and growth. We look forward to everything that comes and are happy to have such a great partner as the Filmuni at our side.

This field is therefore one of the focal points of the work at difgl – Deutsches Institut für Gutes Leben (German Institute for a Good Life). Our current projects and activities reflect our commitment to making the implementation of AI trustworthy and transparent:

SPLEE – Platform for Essays and Discourses

Last year, together with the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, we launched the project “SPLEE – Streaming Platform for Longreads and Essays from Europe”, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Our aim is to make European discourses accessible across borders to all citizens in their respective languages. With AI-supported translations and data visualization, we are facilitating access to essays from leading European media companies.

The project promotes democratic exchange and strengthens understanding of European perspectives. Our interactive website will be launched soon.

KIDD – Artificial Intelligence Serving Diversity

In the research project “KIDD – Artificial Intelligence Serving Diversity”, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs under the umbrella of the New Quality of Work Initiative (INQA), we have worked with our partners to develop quality criteria, training courses, the KIDD process and a self-audit for the diversity-sensitive implementation of AI systems. The project has been completed for several months, and we regularly incorporate our knowledge into our consulting services and workshops for companies and institutions.

Upcoming AI Events:

On March 11, 2025, difgl Managing Director Katja Anclam, together with Annette Gräfin von Wedel for female.vision, will be invited as an AI expert to the ver.di specialist conference “Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Retail” in Berlin. There, they will be running an interactive workshop on the fair and equitable use of AI. The conference will present practical ways in which retail employees can systematically participate in the introduction of AI and how interest groups can optimally exploit their rights to information, participation and co-determination with regard to AI.
