In this episode, Rob dedicates himself to a topic that is very close to his heart: the reception of refugees in London and Berlin. He has been volunteering for Care for Calais in London for many years, helping and advising refugees who are accommodated in London hotels. During this time, he met Sydney Sopher, who is a guest on the podcast this week. Together, Sydney and Rob try to find commonalities and differences in refugee support in London and Berlin. <\/p>\n\n

Rob lived in Berlin when the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began. Here, too, he supported refugees from Ukraine upon their arrival in Germany. During this time, he got to know the organizations he mentions in this podcast: <\/p>\n\n
