AI can be used fairly and transparently if we adhere to a few key principles. Transparent algorithms enable comprehensible decisions. Ethical guidelines ensure that AI functions without discrimination. Data protection safeguards the privacy of users, and continuous monitoring ensures that the systems remain fair. By taking these steps, we create trust in the technology and shape a fair future. With the KIDD project, Katja Anclam and Christoph Henseler co-initiated a project that addressed these issues and conducted research, provided education, and facilitated networking through workshops, think tanks, podcasts, and events. Even though KIDD is ending as a project, we will continue to dedicate ourselves to the topic of AI and data ethics at difgl.
